Abstract:
Grazing practices affect watershed hydrology by altering vegetation cover and soil properties, and amplify soil loss and flood downstream. Grass management is widely recognized as one of the most important hydrological control measures (natural buffer) for flow regulation and soil erosion control.
The main aim of this research proposal is to provide an overview of the hydrological impacts of grazing in the Curvature Subcarpathians hillslopes (Romania), under different environmental conditions. A novel approach, based on combining quantitative (e.g., field experimental research) and qualitative (e.g., field interviews) methods will be adopted. Team structure cover specialists (junior and senior) from soil erosion and hydrology. The lifetime project is 18 months (May/2020 - October/2021) with four Work Packages. The instruments of the investigation will be used in this work included: questionnaires; direct observation, field experiments, quantitative analyses, statistic and modeling.
The results from the project will help to understand the influence the hydrological parameters and land use management on the grazing areas. In this way, we highlight: i) the novelty of this research (first assessment grazing at microscale -rainfall simulations- to catchment scale - models); ii) the update and consolidate information about a not well-known problem related to the runoff occurrence (e.g., runoff coefficients) and water erosion (soil loss; erosion rates).
The GERSEG project outcomes will be exploitation as data support for the development of policies for the national hydrological service and territorial planning and disseminate via conferences, publications and a workshop (to opinions exchange).

Abstract:
Reliable hydrologic data provides the basis for a dependable flood forecasting system in the Danube Basin. While it is important to have a proper emergency
plan in the countries most afflicted by the flood risk, it is still more important to have a sound forecasting system which can increase the preparation time and therefore save human lives and social estate. A forecasting system that is based on the cooperation between the Danube Basin countries is the main objective of DAREFFORT project.

Abstract:
The Complex project aims to develop innovative technologies to reduce the negative impact of climate change on some of the crops grown in the field (peppers, beans, onions). An interdisciplinary consortium consisting of: SCDL Buzau (CO)-Vegetable Development Research Station Buzau, National Institute for Research and Development for Machinery and Installations for Agriculture (INMA) (P1), National Research Development Institute for Textile and Leather-INCDTP (P2), National Research and Development Institute for Environmental Protection-INCDPM (P3), National Institute for Plant Protection Development Research-INCDPP (P4), Research and Development Institute for Industrialization and Marketing of Horticultural Products-HORTING (P5) and Vegetable Growing Research Station Bacau (P6). The consortium's membership has been aimed at collaborating research teams through 4 interdisciplinary projects. These are: Project 1 (SCDL Buzău) Scientific substantiation regarding the technologies for maintenance and protection of vegetable crops in the context of current climate changes - LEGSTITEH; Project 2 (INCDTP Bucharest) Technology for the protection of vegetable crops in the manifestation of extreme weather phenomena, using interactive, modulated system-TEX4VEG; Project 3 (INMA Bucharest) Technology for ecological control of weeds in vegetable crops-COMBECO; Project 4 (INCDPP Bucharest) Eco-sustainable technology for preventing and reducing the aggressiveness of diseases and pests in vegetable crops-ECOLEG. The complex project is part of the requirements for achieving an efficient agriculture, which will lead to the development of rural areas according to the field 1. Bioeconomy Intelligent specialization sub-domain 1.1.5. Sustainable development of crop production adapted to the impact of global climate change.
