The M100 Convention is the milestone event of the M100 initiative, supporting Romanian cities in their transition to climate neutrality. The 10 selected cities have developed Climate City Contracts (CCC) – strategic documents outlining their local vision, action plans, and financing mechanisms for climate neutrality. The Convention marks the shift from planning to recognition, as the cities will be officially awarded the M100 Label. The event brings together ministries, local and national authorities, international experts, civic organizations, and European partners. Its importance lies in the fact that it: • acknowledges the progress of the 10 cities that developed CCCs; • provides a common framework for decision-makers and local actors; • connects Romanian cities to European and international networks; • sets the next steps for advancing towards climate neutrality.
