Abstract:
Benefits of vaccination are indisputable, at both individual and social levels. As a major strategic direction in public health, vaccination makes these benefits far outweighing individual protection against many infectious diseases by eliminating / eradicating / reducing morbidity and complications associated with infectious diseases.
However, even if the benefits of vaccination are evident in modern society where unfiltered information leads to lower confidence in the vaccine, scientific arguments need to be continually put forward to demonstrate the efficacy, safety of vaccines, and to improve the concepts of their use. Also, the current tendency to use a limited number of antigens in existing vaccines on the market may lead to a vaccine pressure limited to a subset of microorganisms which may generate an antigenic drift of circulating microorganisms and, consequently, reduce protection. It is therefore necessary to continuously develop new antigens and the reduced antigenicity of some microbial components requires the presence of suitable adjuvants in current formulations of vaccines available on the market.
This consortium provides the necessary framework for the development of the vaccine through studies involving better characterization of the antigen, optimization of its formulation, extension of the immunogenicity characterization modalities, evaluation of the protection and finally elaboration of non-clinical studies documentation according to pharmaceutical regulations, aiming at increasing and consolidating scientific performance in the field of vaccination.
In addition, the consortium's objectives will include the development and consolidation of laboratory animal model studies completed with an accredited research-development service and the expansion of scientific expertise in vaccine science through the training and specialization of young researchers.

Abstract:
The aim of ROVETEMERG project is to develop a Regional Center of advanced research, able to sustain applied, experimental and fundamental interdisciplinary research. The research domains to be implemented in the cadre of the laboratory are related to: highly pathogenic microorganisms with mass spreading potential, (re-)emerging and rare infectious diseases, microbial drug resistance, food safety and other related areas of bio economy and medical research. The results shall improve human and animal health, promoting the concept of One Health. Implementation of the "Regional center for advanced research emerging diseases, zoonoses and food safety" (ROVETEMERG) project will lead to the following general objectives (GO):
GO 1- development and added value of the UASVM Iaşi RD capacity and knowledge transfer in the smart specialization field of Bio Economics and also in the interconnected Health domain by means of bringing into being and developing an integrated regional center for translational research, that will generate partnerships between human and veterinary medical institutions, universities, research institutes, hospitals, academic groups of experts and economic partners within clusters;
GO 2 - increasing the quality and efficiency of the UASVM Iasi RDI activity through the achievement of high scientific standards and by providing services, processes and performant products for enterprises, thus contributing to the increase of economic competitiveness in the region.

Abstract:
he project "OPTIMIZATION OF REPRODUCTIVE, GENETICS AND HEALTH PARAMETERS IN ORDER TO IMPROVE PRODUCTION IN GOAT HERDS" - "OH, MA CHEVRE!", aims to create a network of scientific staff focused on different aspects of goats breeding and exploatation (reproductive management, out of seson breeding and production, health status management, goat genetics, infectious and hoof diseases), which would allow the integration of research results and the development of some new solutions for goat breeders within the ECO area in line with current challenges.

Abstract:
HEPATITIS E IS AN IMPORTANT PUBLIC HEALTH PROBLEM IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES AND A COMMON CAUSE OF EPIDEMICS. THE VIRUS IS TRANSMITTED PRIMARILY VIA THE FECAL-ORAL WAY AND LARGE EPIDEMICS OF HEPATITIS E HAVE BEEN LINKED TO CONTAMINATED WATER AND POOR PUBLIC HEALTH CONDITIONS. HEPATITIS E VIRUS IS SIMILAR TO HEPATITIS A VIRUS REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION, VIRULENCE, EPIDEMIOLOGY AND SOME REPORTS ATTRIBUTE HIGHER MORBIDITY TO HEPATITIS E IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES. HEPATITIS E IS ENDEMIC IN ASIA AND NORTHEN AFRICA, EPIDEMIC IN MEXICO AND WITH INCREASING FREQUENCY IN INDUSTRIALIZED COUNTRIES (GREAT BRETAGNE, FRANCE, SPAIN, ITALY) AND OTHER AREAS WERE INFECTIONS BY HEPATITIS E VIRUS WAS NOT THOUGTH TO BE ENDEMIC (ALBANIA, TURKEY, MOLDOVA, HUNGARY). IT HAS BEEN SUGGESTED THAT HEV DISEASE MIGHT BE ZOONOTIC BOTH IN REGIONS OF ENDEMICITY AND IN REGIONS WHERE HEV DISEASE IS NON-ENDEMIC. RATS AND DOMESTIC ANIMALS SUCH AS SHEEP, CATTLE AND PIGS ALL APPEAR TO BE RESERVOIRS OF THE VIRUS, WHICH MIGHT EXPLAIN THE PRESENCE OF ANTI-HEV IN PEOPLE WITH NO OBVIOUS SOURCE OF CONTACT WITH HUMAN STRAINS OF THE VIRUS. IN THESE CONDITIONS IT IS NECESSARY TO DETERMINE THE SEROPREVALENCE OF SWINE HEPATITIS E IN ROMANIA, THAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT RESERVOIR OF VIRUS, WITH THE DELIMITATION OF THE ZONES WERE SWINE ARE SEROPOSITIVES. FOR THE CONFIRMATION OF THE DISEASE TO ANIMALS, IT SHALL HARVESTED BIOLOGIC SAMPLES FROM SEROPOSITIVES SWINES, IN THE SITE OF EMPHASIS THE VIRUS THROUGH MOLECULAR METHODS.
