Abstract:
The IoTSensing project entails the design, implementation and testing of spectrum sensing AI algorithms that are able to perform radio spectrum sensing with the main purpose to increase the performance level of large-scale high-density IoT networks. The algorithms will be validated in real operating conditions and will integrate advanced machine learning and deep learning architectures to achieve the highest level of performance. The novel platform will also integrate an interface to visualize and analyze IoT radio spectrum usage, detect interference, and generate detailed reports on radio spectrum occupancy and even radio channel allocation patterns.

Abstract:
In 2018, the number of new electric vehicles registered recorded an increase of over 300% versus 2017. The new “Romania’s energy strategy for 2014-2030 period, with perspectives for 2050” has as objective the Clean Energy, in accordance with EC Directive 2016/30.11.2016 “Clean Energy for Everyone”, and as a priority direction the Electromobility. In Romania, AFM started a program to offer support for acquiring recharging stations, which will cover for 90% of the costs. At this moment, on the market, there are platforms that manage recharging stations but do not communicate and share data between them, so the user will need to have an RFID card and mobile application for each platform he uses (in Suceava there are already four different platforms). The existing solutions do not offer the possibility to make reservations and do not incorporate artificial intelligence in the optimization of processes. The scope of the project is to develop an Intelligent Management platform for recharging stations based on Blockchain technology, called Smart EVC Platform. The main objective of the Smart EVC Platform project is to increase the economic environment competitiveness by assimilating CDI results to help plan, design, build, test and to demonstrate an intelligent management platform of recharging stations based on Blockchain and artificial intelligence (TRL 6), and also to provide this software product to the market.

Abstract:
Climate change and the desire to improve breathing air quality in urban areas are the main factors that have led to legislative changes in the use of green energy sources, including in the field of individual transport. In Romania there are a number of legislative facilities designed to encourage the sale of electric propelled vehicles (EV & PHEV) by providing checks on the purchase of such a new car, or tax exemptions/reductions. One of the reasons why the number of EV&PHEV units sold in Romania is not higher is also due to the fact that the number of charging stations is not sufficient and without proper regional coverage.
The SMiLE-EV project proposes the deployment of fixed and mobile EV & PHEV charging stations to meet the mobility needs of tomorrow's society and to prepare active/potential industrial partners for knowledge/technology transfer at the component or system level in prepare launching new products. Thus, 4 Romanian research entities, 2 universities and 2 institutes (covering the three historical regions of the country), as well as 10 potential industrial partners benefiting from the resulting technologies/products, joined in this effort. Moreover, the SMiLE-EV project is an opportunity for (re)launching the research activities of the 4 partners in areas such as: fast EV&PHEV charging solutions, H2-based energy sources integrated into charging stations, energy management of the mobile station, the exploitation of the available energy in the public transport network, efficient propulsion solutions, the connection/adjustment of the Romanian energy/environment legislation to the new challenges posed by the use of EV&PHEV stations. Through the involvement of a young / mixed workforce, the SMiLE-EV project contributes to the formation of researchers oriented towards products with high marketing potential.
