Abstract:
The Black Sea, being located at the confluence of Europe and Asia, has a significant strategic importance both at regional and international levels. In the current international context, the security and stability of the Black Sea region is of uttermost importance. For this reason, significant efforts are focused on ensuring IMINT capabilities by integrating IT systems for monitoring maritime activities, control of maritime borders, identification of military infrastructure in the Black Sea area, as well as for naval mine detection. The project proposes an integrated and innovative approach for multi-source information retrieval (e.g. data collected by sensors placed on ships and aerial platforms, coastal stations, satellite data) through the development of a 5D IMINT Dispatch. The 5D IMINT Dispatch allows automated data collection, with incorporated location and timing, as well as an advanced data analysis in order to identify anomalies and trends in the presence of risk situations (e.g., the existence of floating naval mines). At the same time, the detection of potential risks and the prediction of future events using artificial intelligence tools is a important step forward towards early warning and timely support of decision makers. The development of the 5D IMINT Dispatcher contributes to the creation of a methodological framework for the standardization of IMINT data models and information flow, as well as for planning operations to prevent and eliminate maritime risks. Moreover, the identification of the main security risks in the maritime area leads to the definition of the main case studies, which are the basis of the IMINT proposal and which outline the demonstration of the concepts and methodologies that are implemented within the project, e.g. support for ensuring security for people and maritime transport of goods, monitoring and protection of oil platforms in the Black Sea.

Abstract:
Marine accidents and incidents do continue to occur due to a lack of experiential knowledge transferred. Experiential knowledge is not something tangible, nor is it a subject that can be taught in college, although the concept should be addressed and the candidates encouraged to participate in experiential knowledge transfer. There are variety of reasons why transfer of experiential knowledge is difficult to be transferred from one to another is one is the lack of time for informal training which is due to ships and long working hours prevents mentors to take time off their busy schedule and take personal interest in training of juniors.
SEA MENTORS will promote competencies specified to these standards, and some lead to internationally recognised qualifications. On the other hand, maritime industry has a tradition of learning from others onboard; however, on-board community is small and sometimes highly variable in timing and composition.

Abstract:
The MARSNET project mission is aiming to meet the dynamic needs of the stakeholders including students, industry and society, in parallel with the changing professional realities of the modern world from the maritime education sector, by developing a harmonized framework for teaching and research practices within the European Maritime Training and Education system, relying upon academic expertise exchange in learning by simulation methods, with an emphasis on valuing the regional partners potential for education and research, using in joint the simulator facilities and digital learning resources.
The project would promote the knowledge transfer between the European Union regions, seeking to build a knowledge “bridge” between the Black Sea and Baltic Sea in areas of education and training, as follow up of previous implemented projects of the partners. The project address to the needs of complying with the STCW 95 requirement in training for partner institutions based on an enhanced future competitiveness, bringing the teaching and learning strategies on a new updated level of digitization. The project will offer an inter-regional joint framework in simulation learning system in maritime education, valuing the potential of developing skills, abilities and responsibilities of the graduates, to stimulate their insertion in the maritime international labor market. By this project, the partners will be granted with access to a larger base of educational resources and training facilities in order to share the networking expertise alongside the European space, increasing their competitiveness as international MET providers.
Subsidiary the project is aiming to the need of the job market, for bringing the teaching methods in the new era of digitalization, building new and innovative video tutorials and digital training materials for simulator facilities, to offer full access in time and space for educational processes. In case of the targeted maritime students, blended learning methods and the digital tools will be applied, for enhancing the independence and autonomy of the students, for carrying out the learning process both in the classrooms but also onboard commercial vessels for cadetship. The simulating facility network will also promote harmonized courses that use simulators as: ship handling and manoeuvring, engine room operation, cargo handling, safe and rescue or naval communications. Not in the last, the need for internationalization is also to be covered by offering a broad range of cooperation, valuing previous projects results.

Abstract:
BLUE4SEAS project aims to build a strategic partnership between five maritime academic institutions “to bridge” the Baltic, Black, and Mediterranean Seas.
The project intends to place a “brick” in the foundation of European universities in order to obtain competitive advantages through the exchanging of good practices and knowledge within the network, aiming to improve teaching skills and learning methods through simulation, providing a solid ground for excellence in teaching and skills development processes.
Maritime officers are educated and trained in naval academies and maritime universities and the specific curricula have also to comply with Bologna higher education requirements and their related quality standards. The differences between national education maritime systems can lead to problems with the recognition of educational qualifications from other countries and of periods of study taken abroad.
Into the maritime European space, BLUE4SEAS will lead to an increase in the competitiveness of maritime higher education provider institutions (MHEI) supporting the implementation of the Bologna principles, implicitly by giving and recognizing ECTS credits and developing a successful EEA.
