Prof. Cecilia Mihaela Popescu, Ph.D., graduated in 1998 from the Faculty of Letters and History, University of Craiova (UCV), and earned her Ph.D. in Philology (Romance Linguistics) in 2006 under the supervision of Prof. Maria Iliescu (University of Innsbruck). In 2019, she was promoted to Full Professor in the Department of Romance and Classical Languages at UCV, and in 2024, she was appointed Senior Researcher at the "Iorgu Iordan – Alexandru Rosetti" Institute of Linguistics of the Romanian Academy. Her research focuses on Romance Linguistics and Pragmatics. She served on the Board of the Société de Linguistique Romane (2016–2022) and is a member of the CNATDCU and ARACIS commissions (from 2024). She was Vice Dean for Research at at the Faculty of Letters, UCV (2016–2024), Throughout her academic career, Prof. Popescu has directed an advanced internally funded research project and participated in multiple national and international grants, including projects financed by EEA Grants,
