Florinela Sirbu has a background in chemical engineering, acquiring her Bachelor’s degree at "Politehnica" University of Bucharest, Faculty of Industrial Chemistry, Department of Applied Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry. She joined the “Ilie Murgulescu” Institute of Physical Chemistry of Romanian Academy, Bucharest in 1996, in the Laboratory of Chemical Thermodynamics, in the Liquids Thermodynamics domain. Her current position is Research Scientist gr. III from 2010 to the present. Her research focuses on the study of the thermodynamic properties of liquid mixtures of electrolytes and non-electrolytes using different experimental techniques for measuring density, speed of sound, refractive indices, viscosities - obtaining experimental data and specific modeling.
