Abstract:
The resulting product of this project is a modular electric propulsion (SIMOPEL) for sustainable development of land and water transport. The product will meet the market demand within different power ranges for different types of transport systems, such as:
- Land transport: electric vehicles (cars, scooters), industrial autonomous/robotic transport systems (TransContainers).
- Water transport systems (boats, speedboats) .
The concept of modular propulsion system proposed in this project is an innovative concepts for experimental electric vehicles, concept that allows both increased autonomy and propulsion power, according to the specific use .
The target market is rapidly growing, with high growth rates. The product target could be:
- Manufacturers of lightweight two-wheeled vehicles (bicycles, scooters)
- Local authorities for various uses in areas where ICE vehicles traffic is prohibited.
- Carriers or tourism managers in recreational areas
- Manufacturers who want to enter into the light electric vehicles market and want to test experimental models and prototypes
- Administration of natural reserves (such as Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve) who want to equip their boats with electric propulsion
Modular electric propulsion system comprises the following modules:
- Propulsion module itself, consisting of electric motor/generator and control system;
- Command and control module with associated auxiliaries;
- Batteries and recharging control system;
- Power flow management module, including the DC/DC converter;
The battery recharging module, an infrastructure component, will also be developed within the project ("the electric gas station") .
Initial fabrication, testing and final inspection will be performed in the existing technological capabilities and specialized laboratories of ICPE .
The project Consortium entirely covers the necessary technical expertise. The team includes key individuals with experience in engineering technology, people who were responsible for the design, execution and implementation of manufacturing technologies for other like products. The project management group provides managerial competencies required for such a complex process, with applications in many industrial activities. Project managers from each partner are highly appreciated specialists in the scientific tasks assigned to each member of the Consortium. The technical experts are people with experience in designing electrical machines and automation systems.
