Assist. Prof. Bogdan received her Ph.D. in Automation, Image and Signal Processing and Computer Engineering from Paul Verlaine University of Metz, France, in 2010.
Since then, she was Graduate Assistant and Researcher at University of Texas at Arlington, Invited Guest Professor at National School of Engineering of Metz, Assistant Teaching Professor at Northeastern University in Boston, Scientific Collaborator at Transilvania University of Brasov, R&D Engineer at Kawasaki Robotics in Detroit, and Research Associate and Instructor at Oregon State University.
She was involved in National Science Foundation projects as team leader for Soft Robotics Project and deputy leader for Social Robotics Project. For her research work on social robots was awarded with Dr. Kanako Miura Award of IEEE International Conference on Humanoid Robotics, Madrid Spain in 2014. Also, Ioana has an extensive work on different scales of robots used in industry, medical field and social robotics.
