I am an Associate Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department at Ovidius University of Constanţa, RO. I got the habilitation title in Environmental Engineering in December 2021, with the thesis Contributions on applying spectral and statistical analysis methods in evaluating surfaces and environmental factors. I have been a Ph.D. student coordinator at Politehnica University of Bucharest since January 2022. I am the single author or co-author of five books and two book chapters in Springer International Publishing, hold one patent (2003), and have published more than 70 scientific papers, of which 50 are in the WOS/Scopus, which are more than 520 citations in ISI journals (H-Index=14). I was the project manager of a funding agreement for the implementation of a scientific research and innovation project and member in the research group of 5 research-development grants. I earned the Marie Curie grant from the French National Centre for Scientific Research (2003-2004).

Abstract:

The project proposal focuses on developing an innovative method and technology for recycling, reusing, and valorizing components from end-of-life vehicles (ELVs). The main objective is to reduce the negative impact of these components on the environment and to promote circular economy practices within the industry. The project will be carried out in collaboration with the company S.C. Pieseauto Dez S.R.L., located in Agigea, Constanța county, which will provide the necessary documentation for the project and will be responsible for valorizing the end products obtained from the recycling process. Within the project, a detailed analysis of auto components that can be recycled and available recycling processes will be conducted, followed by identifying the most efficient recycling methods tailored to the profile of the partner company. Additionally, a waste management plan will be developed to minimize the environmental impact of waste generated during dismantling. Implicitly, the project aims to identify the best methods for energy recovery from waste to optimize the recycling process and maximize energy efficiency. The realization of the project will lead to the development of innovative solutions for recycling and reusing auto components from ELVs, contributing to the promotion of circular economy practices in the southeastern part of Romania and reducing the environmental impact caused by the partial waste management of auto dismantling.

The project developed through Contract no. 376 VIASAN no. Reg. 061 / 11.10.2004 for underfunding 12002 / 7.10.2004 included research for the production of new materials for the field of dentistry. Through the underfunding contract, Ovidius University tested the materials made by the Politehnica University Project Coordinator. Specific operating procedures and rules have been prepared. The results of the project were disseminated through the publication of scientific articles.
