Completarea aplicației europene pentru finanțarea componentelor romanești, Hub și Supersite-ul Delta Dunării, ale infrastructurii pan-europene DANUBIUS-RI cu studiile solicitate de legislația în vigoare:

Evaluarea impactului asupra mediului (EIA),

Utilizarea și eliminarea în condiții de siguranță a substanțelor chimice de laborator,

Abstract:

The DANUBIUS-RI is considered by the Romanian Government as a strategic project of national importance for Romania, thus being mentioned in the National Strategy for Scientific Research 2015-2020. DANUBIUS-RI also has flagship status as part of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region (SUERD). This project will facilitate liaison with other institutions and infrastructures at European and international level in the DANUBIUS-RI research fields, through interaction and visits to selected research infrastructures and universities in Europe.

Abstract:

The tribiotic products represent a new trend in the field of functional food, being products which combine prebiotic compounds, with beneficial microbial probiotics and postbiotic metabolites as final products of the probiotic microorganisms. The targeted company, Medica, has acquired a modern technological line for the cultivation of symbiotic bacteria and yeast (SCOBY) and has developed an innovative technology to ferment the micronized pollen, in order to increase the bio-availability of the bioactive compounds of pollen. Targeting the increase of its performance and competitiveness on the nutraceutical market, the economic agent desires to optimize the existent technology to obtain a product with tribiotic complex activity, complementary to the phytonutrients of increased bio-availability from the pollen and SCOBY bioactive compounds.

The technology's optimization requires the interconnected expertise of USAMVB in the field of probiotic microorganisms, their molecular characterization and bacteriocins production, as well as the expertise of INCDSB in vitro evaluation of biological activity in cell cultures. The research partners will also contribute to the development of the quality assurance of the final product by inter-comparative laboratory tests. Meanwhile, it will be assured an efficient framework for the masters and doctoral internships ongoing.

Based on the published results it will be lay down the notification files for the nutritive supplement, which will include the marketing/communication strategy to the consumer regarding the demonstrated beneficial effects of the innovative tribiotic product. The economic agent already has pre-orders for the product developed with bee pollen and SCOBY. Based on these pre-orders it is estimated a turnover increase with 500 thousands euro in the first production year, with a perspective of doubling/tripling in the next two years.

Abstract:

The strategic forest planning process aims at optimization of a series of objectives that are subject to a set of constraints. The incorporation of market dynamics in the optimization increases the complexity of the strategic planning formulation by requiring the inclusion of detailed tree level products (such as sawlogs, pulpwood, or chip ‘n saw) in the planning process. Furthermore, constant adjustment of planning objectives to short-term market changes requires fast and accurate identification of the products that can be supplied by the forest estate subject to strategic planning. The advent of remote sensing techniques, especially LIDAR, reduces the time to acquire accurate information required for products allocation. The present research aims at identification of products allocation based on LIDAR information that would supply the optimal solution to the strategic planning objectives. LIDAR data will be used to determine a series of tree attributes (e.g., total height, crown width, crown length and crown asymmetry) that will be used to delineate possible products to be obtained from a tree. Models describing each tree in terms of products allocation will be developed by adjusting taper equations to the attributes estimated using LIDAR. The optimal products allocation would be determined at the forest estate level using several planning algorithms, including linear programming, simulated annealing, and first fit decreasing algorithm constrained to fulfill the perfect bin-packing theorem. The research will provide the information needed by Romanian forest operators to adjust their strategic and tactical planning to market conditions.
