Abstract:
The increase in number and types of cyber attacks in recent years appears as a result of vulnerabilities created by an accelerated process of digitization. This proposal presents the current state and directions of development of an automatic system for early detection of cyber vulnerabilities and threats, called Yggdrasil (name inspired by Nordic mythology), based on data from open sources: OSINT (Open-source intelligence). The innovative nature of this project is given by the real-time use of social media data and other relevant online sources open for identifying public references that present new types of cyber threats or types of zero day attacks, where reaction time is vital for limiting possible damages. The Yggdrasil project aims to improve cyber security services at a national and international level by reducing the chance of exploiting emerging vulnerabilities. The project team intends to develop, within 18 months, an automatic system for the early detection of vulnerabilities and cyber-attacks based on open source data (OSINT), competitive at a national and international level. The developed prototype has a technological maturity level TRL 4. The results of the laboratory tests demonstrate the functioning of the component technologies as a whole and describe its efficiency in identifying emerging cyber vulnerabilities through data obtained from open sources. Integration into existing systems to detect cyber threats in the form of personalized warning systems and news flow raises a number of challenges and opportunities.

Abstract:
The project covers the area of telepresence video technologies use for supplying distant educational services within remote geographical communities and evaluating the impact of implementing such services and technologies at a community level. The project foresees the Domain no. 9: Social, economic and human research, Axe 9.7. Technology, organization and cultural change, Themes 9.7.1. Interaction between technologies and individuals, and 9.7.3. Social impact of new technological configurations.
The main outcome of the project may be defined by a concept of "Community Telecenter", to be used both for supplying distance educational services within remote communities and for many other goals related to real time distance communications. On a lesser scale, the project aims to reach outcomes like the development of a set of technical specifications for maximizing the efficiency of the services provided via the centre, and the development of a methodology for investigating and lowering resistance against video technologies adoption. The main success criterion of the project is represented by community development, measured according to two different indicators, namely: success rate at the Capacity Exam of students within beneficiary communities and number of applications for FSE-type projects developed within beneficiary communities. The project aims to develop knowledge in the field, following three directions of research: 1. Exploring telepresence video technologies in terms of interaction between the technology and people, 2. Using of video technology in education and 3. Investigation of resistance to video technology adoption. This aims to answer to multiple challenges, which are related to scientific knowledge and the real social and community implications, placing it in line with current EU policies. In addition to the overall objective of the project, there are defined seven research objectives, five application targets and nine expected results.
The project has strong innovative features. Innovations suggested within the project aim to three main goals: 1. Innovation to-be-achieved via the product "Community Telecenter", 2. Methodological innovation, mainly in terms of researching the resistance against video technologies adoption, and 3. Innovation related to the educational services offer via the use of distant-presence technology. This project has an interdisciplinary feature, as it achieves connections between several scientific knowledge areas: information and communication technology, cognitive social psychology, educational sciences and behavioural economy. The interdisciplinary approach is firstly supported by the multidisciplinary composition of the team, which is thus able to deliver competencies and complementarities needed for a valid approach of themes followed within the project. In the context of this project, we aim at using multiple means to disseminate the results: the website of the project, publishing articles, proceedings and project volume, organizing a conference. The project results are also connected with the commercial strategy of the enterprise partner, through the business strategy of developing the product „community telecenter”. Intellectual property is governed by the collaboration agreement, the legal protection ways being provided in the project.
The proposed project consortium consists of three partners, of which two research entities: CO - University of Bucharest & P2 - Polytechnic University of Bucharest and a company: P1 - Concept Electronics. The consortium has been built from the perspective of complementarity of partners skills, aiming to foster the synergies required by a multidisciplinary approach. The teams consist of reputable specialists, as can be seen from the list of publications. The plan is distributed over 24 months, organized into 8 packages, their coordination is provided by the partner with the most relevant competences in relation to the structure of activities.

Abstract:
The overall objective of this project is matching the applicative research in Romania with the evolution and the requirements of national and global socio-economical medium. This synchronicity is possible by developing an original and competitive product that will perform an intelligent administration of building’s energy consumption.
In conformity with European’s Union directive 2010/31/UE and PCCA 2013, the “SMARTBUILD” Project aims to develop and test (by industrial research and experimental development) an innovative and competitive product. This product will be used for controlled and centralized management of the building, using a centralized service system and the modern concept of cloud computing. The centralized system aims to reduce energy consumption by intelligent management of the following implements: cooling and heating installations, lighting, photovoltaic systems for energy production, solar and thermal panels, wind turbines and geothermal energy. We propose ,through the intelligent system also to contribute to increas the security, the thermal and visual comfort of users.
The users will be able to interact with the intelligent system using web browsers installed on computers, mobile phones and tablets. The smart unit will be able to learn the user's actions (cognitive learning) in order to predict future decisions.
The concept of smart buildings consists of two distinct components: hardware and software. The software component will be structured as a two-headed entity with modular structures: the first one will compute the energy required for the user's comfort, and the other entity will make smart decisions for a minimal energy consumption taking into account the user's comfort.
The hardware component is composed of a network of sensors, instalations that can be ordered (heating, cooling, lighting, electrical equipment), renewable energy devices and a minicomputer which support the intelligent software component.
