Abstract:
Pop-Lite aims to address the lack of digitized resources, literary corpora, and customized tools for the treatment of modern Romanian prints, to save non-canonical texts from forgetfulness through digital editing, and to provide an innovative approach in terms of preprocessing, storage, and processing. Pop-Lite will deliver interoperable and machine-readable formats of 100 Romanian literary texts published during the long 19th century (1850-1920). The project’s objectives are the following:
O1: to create of a benchmark literary corpus for the study of 19th-century Romanian popular novels and of their subgenres;
O2: to test existing tools for digital literary studies on diachronic varieties of Romanian language and to customize them;
O3: to foster the acquisition by early career investigators of state-of-the-art methods of distant reading, including digital competencies, best practices and methods;
O4: to engage a critical mass of researchers into an interdisciplinary investigation of literary data focused on the theoretical, methodological and practical consequences of distant reading approaches for the Romanian literary history and literary theory.
Pop-Lite is the first Romanian initiative that combines DH tools and methods with the traditional approaches on literary history and theory. The emphasis on methodological concerns and on new DR-related theoretical concepts will generate an easy transfer of good practices and follow-up research in both national and international academia.
Pop-Lite will be implemented in 3 stages, each having specific Work Packages:
1. Initiation in DLS;
2. Practice in DLS;
3. Data validation and project follow-ups.
The project results are: a. documentation in DHL best practices (guideline, reports, white-paper, workflow); b. 3 scientific articles/ books chapters and 1 book; 5 conference papers; 8 research stay reports; 1 open access corpus; 1 shadow repository; 1 site; 2 workshops.

Abstract:
-la création d'un corpus en XML, encodé selon le standard TEI Lite, d'une quarantaine de textes centrés sur le personnage du haïdouk (romans, nouvelles, récits courts), publiés en roumain entre 1850 et 1950;
-la mobilisation et l'adaptation d'outils de la linguistique de corpus, de la stylométrie et du topic modelling pour la caractérisation des traits internes du genre «littérature des haïdouks», venant compléter l'analyse des traits externes (conventions développées pendant l'évolution historique du genre);
