Abstract:
The aim of the project is the development of an integrated computer system for real-time transcription of speech to text for Romanian and recognition of a caller's emotional states from emergency calls (to 112), using machine learning / deep learning solutions, functionally independent of other Internet resources. The results will improve the management of records resulting from 112 emergency calls, increase the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of 112 call management activities by recognizing and classifying the caller's emotional states from emergency calls, simultaneously with the interoperability through standardized interfaces of the computer system with the SNUAU system.

Abstract:
The project Lib2Life – the Revival of libraries and cultural heritage through advanced technologies has the purpose of reviving the role of the libraries as core institutions in the educational process; to give full meaning to a cultural heritage often shaded by the magnetism of the new digital formulas invading the concrete reality; to reinvent reading practices according to the profile of the contemporary user.
The project Lib2Life is developed by a consortium of four Central University Libraries, University Politehnica and the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics, bringing together top specialists in the field of restoration of heritage documents, library science and advanced IT technologies.
The project Lib2Life has four sub-components with the following common objectives: developing new solutions for cultural heritage preservation; promoting it through cutting-edge methods and techniques; increasing access to info-documentary resources; improvement of the library services; knowledge and technology transfer to society.
The methods and techniques that will be put into practice will follow the highest standards of scientific innovation, without neglecting practical applicability. Thus, along with the colloquia and scientific publications, much of the Lib2Life project’s results have high socio-economic value: patents, registers and public access databases, software apps, guides for strategies and good practice.

Abstract:
The goal of the present project is to set up an intelligent digital platform able to provide services of search in three databases: General Dictionary of Romanian Literature (GDRL 2.0 – database including cca. 5000 entries, in Romanian, on Romanian writers from the beginning to date, whereas the English version includes 200 entries on representative Romanian writes), The Chronology of Romanian Literary Life (CRLL – database including abstracts of all relevant articles in Romanian cultural journals between 1944-2000) and Canonical Works of Romanian Literature (CWRL – database including the collected works of 28 representative Romanian writers exempt from the copyright law). The services provided by the platform are meant to cover: a semantic search for information, mining for emerging concepts at various time intervals, semantic clustering of documents, exploring intertextuality from the vantage point of lexical and semantic connections among textual fragments and a survey of writing evolution at various literary periods.

Abstract:
ROBIN is a user-centered project designing software systems and services for the use of robots in an interconnected digital society, and enables companies to develop complex, intelligent and ready-to-use products and services for these users, as well as for the society as a whole. The project covers a diverse range of robots: assistive robots for the support of people with special needs, social robots for interaction with store customers, and software robots that can be installed on intelligent vehicles to achieve autonomous car driving. The project combines advanced techniques and technologies of artificial intelligence, human-robot interaction, interactions with a pervasive intelligent environment, and Cloud processing.
ROBIN-Social develops integrated and easily configurable solutions for the personalization of assistive and social robots, with a cognitive and autonomous character.
ROBIN-Car develops computer vision methods, which resolves a large and sophisticated plethora of tasks for automated driving, and a prototype system which will be tested on an electrical vehicle.
ROBIN-Context creates a support platform for the semantic representation and efficient management of data that becomes context in scenarios of personalized robotic assistance and AADS.
ROBIN-Dialog develops a set of scenarios for micro-worlds and the technology for the Romanian language processing to achieve situational dialogs in these micro-worlds.
ROBIN-Cloud builds a support platform for collecting data coming from the sensors of robotic systems and IoT systems that offers Cloud Edge and Cloud Robotics computing.
The complex project, through the interaction of its developed components, brings significant contributions in fundamental research, applied research, innovation, and technological transfer, offers advanced scientific and technical services, and contributes to the enhancement of the institutional capacity of the 4 partners in the consortium.

Abstract:
The Text2NeuralQL project primarily aims to build a solution for automatic generation of queries over structured databases (SQL) from texts written by users in natural language. To achieve our objective, we intend to use the latest advancements in natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning. We will build a comprehensive solution that encompasses both a model based on deep neural networks, especially recurrent networks, to generate SQL queries from texts, and an interactive dialog agent used to resolve more complicated queries, which can not be determined unambiguously from the entered text (because they are incomplete, ambiguous). For training and validating the models implemented in the project, we will build a dataset which will contain a set of natural language annotations of several data queries, labeled by experts/programmers. Two different datasets will be created: the former based on mining of information from online sources (communities of practice, discussion boards, question-answering sites) and the latter using crowdsourcing platforms, either already developed or built within the project. The developed solution addresses especially users from large companies without programming knowledge (marketing, sales managers) and startups who cannot afford to pay a programmer to query their databases for generating reports. Although several solutions for generating queries from texts have been constructed, this is a perfect time to develop a viable product given the advances achieved in recent years, in similar NLP tasks, including automatic translation and question-answering tasks. Recurrent deep models, such as LSTM or sequence-to-sequence, provided substantial improvements for many natural language tasks and we aim to expand them to generate qualitative queries from texts.
